A Hot Day In Heaven by Kathleen Scott

I love writing stories of mythological or emphereal beings behaving badly, while still maintaining a core of goodness. It's concepts like this that brought me to my story, A Hot Day In Heaven. Soon to be released from the Scarlet Rose line.

Here's a bit o' the blurb to tempt you...

*****

Bad things always seem to come in threes, or so Sonia St. Marie discovers as she is kicked out of her apartment during a blizzard, her job teaching art classes at an adult center gets cut and she catches her boyfriend in bed with her best friend. Needless to say, it’s not been the best of days. That is until Archer DeAngelo shows up in his black SUV smelling of exotic spices and evoking a head full of sensual fantasies.

For years, Archer has been the distraction in the back of Sonia’s mind, tempting her to wonder about his decadent lifestyle he lives and the women he’s pleasured. Just looking at him makes her dream of all the things she wants to do with him and now she’s free from her philandering boyfriend, Gabriel, there’s nothing to stand in her way.

Seeing Sonia’s distress at her homeless state, Archer offers her a place to stay: his condo overlooking Central Park . Having nowhere else to go in such inclement weather, Sonia takes him up on his offer for shelter and much more. The sexual tension that always simmered between them goes into overdrive under such close proximity. The fact Archer has made it his mission to help her put her life back together has its own advantages. But then again, Archer is only doing his job.

Fallen from grace for a difference of opinion, Archer leads a group of disenfranchised guardian angels, who are currently staying mere steps ahead of the heavenly host who wants nothing more but to see them regain their rightful place at God’s right hand. A place they no longer care to occupy. The call of the flesh is much too powerful a lure for one who is now mostly corporeal.

For Archer, all his plans for the past few years have come down to this place in time. Since being assigned as Sonia’s guardian angel, he’s wished for the day when he could make her his. Unfortunately, his former friend, Gabriel, beat him to the prize. As head of the fallen, Archer has bided his time, knowing Gabriel would fall further than any of them ever could. It’s up to Archer to find a place for the fallen in the grand plan while trying to help Sonia realize her dreams, including the more erotic ones.

Sounds interesting. I always thought fallen angels would prefer being on Earth to going back.

I'm looking forward to this one--who knew angels could be such, um, well, no, that's waaayyy too easy LOL.

Gotta love the big, bad protector type .... especially when he falls straight from heaven!

Hi Mystic! Oh I love mythology stories! I just read a few Mermaid (anthology) and reminded me of other ones I like, like Greek gods and too TWRP Song Of Muses, which I believe are Goddess stories (I have to get first one, I do have one of them). My first time reading fantasy romance was with ebooks and love them, so I'm always looking for more! This does sound good Mystic with a guardian angel!!! Can't wait to read more on it! Congrats on the upcoming release!

Thanks ladies, I'm currently working on the sequel, which is tentatively titled, Dirty Wings. I'm hoping to evently have stories for all eight of the fallen with two stories per anthology. (I'm rather prolific that way!) - I'll be getting a release date for this soon and will post it on the Wilder blog and loop.
